The landmark of Alsace are the storks and they build their nest on the old tower of the village year after year.
Zellenberg was fortified in 1252 by Walter von Horburg and became township. The famous engraver Merian made one of his best drawing of Zellenberg. The lower village fountain of Zellenberg with the "Rebm'nnle" dates back to 1876.
A walk to Riquewihr at a distance of 1 km through the lovely center of wine-growing is a stroll in the old traditions of Alsace. Many crooked lanes and old nicely decorated half-timbered houses can be discovered.
